About This Conference:

The Northeast Region NTMA Conference has been created to bring leaders from the precision custom manufacturing industry together to learn, share, network, and to strengthen our cohesion and collaboration as a group. Organized by the 4 New England NTMA Chapters, the goal is to create an event, modeled after the successful NTMA national conferences, that will offer attendees opportunities to build relationships and business knowledge on a more local level.

We encourage any company involved in the industry to join us in Mystic at this first of a kind event.

Together Everyone Achieves More!

Leadership at 12 o’clock High - David Hutton, CEO Right Brain World

The classic movie “ 12 O'clock High,” is probably the most influential movie used in management training.   This surprising fact is a consequence of the movie's remarkable portrayal of leadership styles. Dr. David Hutton’s highly interactive presentation explores leadership in a unique way. The movie is used as a case study.

The presentation focuses on differing leadership behavioral emphases. Attendees will critically evaluate two commanders with very different styles, then discuss the effectiveness of the leadership behaviors demonstrated, and experience how an effective leader adapts leadership emphasis to meet specific situations.

Dr. David Hutton has a wealth of international business experience. He has held several executive level positions, as well as been CEO of both public and private companies. He is the CEO of Right Brain World, a training company specializing in creativity and leadership workshops. He holds a Ph.D. in engineering from the University of Southampton, U.K.

Best Practices in Recruiting Your Future Workforce - Harry Moser, President Agie Charmilles Corp.

Finding and keeping skilled employees is a challenge for all of us. U.S. shops need about 5% more precision machinists and tool and die makers than are currently available. This shortage will continue to expand as we retire more employees than we train. I will present the best practices and tools for recruiting the quality and quantity of future workers needed to keep our shops and country competitive. I will also provide arguments to help you convince schools and colleges to strengthen their manufacturing programs to train these recruits.

Harry Moser, President of Agie Charmilles Corp., was President of Charmilles Technologies Corporation since 1985. Agie Charmilles is North America’s largest supplier of EDM machine tools and 3 and 5-axis High Speed CNC mills.  Charmilles and Harry are national leaders in the fight to attract more of America’s youth into the manufacturing trades. Harry regularly writes and speaks on issues such as international trade, importance of manufacturing for the future of the U.S. economy and how to compete with Southeast Asia.

Saturday, May 19 - 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
